Port Washington, NY – April 20, 2026 – Associated Supermarket Group (ASG) is proud to announce that Zulema T. Wiscovitch, Co‑President and CEO, will be honored by the Tri‑State Italian American Congress at its annual dinner on May 5, 2026.
Zulema is being recognized for her impactful leadership in the food industry, her dedication to independently owned supermarkets, and her longstanding commitment to community service and philanthropy. In 2020, as Co‑President and CEO of ASG, she and Co‑President and CEO Joe Garcia and other investors acquired ASG.
In addition to her corporate leadership, Zulema serves on the board of the Food Industry Alliance of New York and has held board leadership roles with the National Grocers Association, where she received the prestigious Spirit of America Award. In 2024, she was named Person of the Year by the Catholic Institute of the Food Industry. Her leadership and contributions reflect the values celebrated by the Tri‑State Italian American Congress.
Zulema will be honored at the Tri‑State Italian American Congress Annual Dinner on May 5, 2026. Proceeds from the event support the organization’s mission to create meaningful educational opportunities for Italian American and other deserving students, while honoring individuals who advance the legacy of the Italian community in the United States.
