ADOT: Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway Project Delivery Update
Speakers:
Steve Mishler, PE, ADOT Design Manager; Doug LaMont, PE, Connect 202 Partners’ Design Manager; and Paul Arnold, Connect 202 Partners’ Deputy Construction Manager. Steve is the Design Manager for ADOT’s Major Projects Team and has been employed with ADOT for 21 years. Doug is a Senior Project Manager for WSP and has spent his entire 30-year career working on the delivery of ADOT projects. Paul has been employed for 20 years with Ames Construction and is currently a Regional Vice-President.
Presentation:
The presentation will provide an overview of the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway project, the largest public works project in Arizona history. The current project budget is $1.7 billion (R/W, demolition, utilities, design, construction). ADOT partnered with a private developer (Connect 202 Partners) in 2016 to design, build, and maintain the freeway for 30 years. Construction is anticipated to be completed in late 2019. ADOT and Connect 202 Partners will provide a brief project overview, current status, photos via drone, new construction techniques, and lessons learned.

August 30th Sustainability Workshop
|
The Phoenix Branch will be hosting a series of presentations on sustainable infrastructure and land use on Thursday, August 30th, from 7am-10am in the Maricopa Conference Room at the Maricopa County Dept. of Transportation, 2901 West Durango Street, Phoenix. Representatives from the ASCE Phoenix Branch, the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure, ADOT, City of Phoenix, and Arizona State University will speak.
The registration cost is $20 for ASCE members and $25 for non-members.
