Adults in Correctional Facilities Funding Update
|
|
The CDE Adult Education Office provided an update regarding the Adults in Correctional Facilities (AICF) budget. The 2019-20 AICF budget allocation was reduced by $9,765,000 which left a balance of $5,981,000. The current allocation to LEAs as of the 2019-20 P2 apportionment was $5,481,084. The CDE School Fiscal Services Division does not believe there will be a shortage of funds, because the funding for 2019-20 uses the 2018-19 annual average daily attendance (ADA). No large increases are expected in the 2018-19 annual ADA, so the funding appropriated in SB98 should be sufficient for the seventeen AICF participant agencies.
Please contact Vicki Prater, Education Program Consultant, CDE Adult Education Office, at vprater@cde.ca.gov, if you have further questions about jail education.

The first
Data Diving During COVID-19 webinar was well-attended and posed some great questions as agencies prepare their end-of-year CAEP student data. Join Jay Wright for Part II of this webinar. Despite schools and colleges being closed due to COVID-19, the end of year deadline of August 1st for all CAEP agencies still looms. In this workshop, we will look at the CAEP Data Integrity Report (DIR), review many of the data dive principles we have presented over the past couple of years, and provide some "typical" TE data examples.... and also look at reporting areas that may need a different view given that we are in the COVID-19 era.
