Conversation and Coffee with Mayor Marie Blankley: Starting 2024 on a Roll

The community is invited to join Mayor Marie Blankley and City Administrator Jimmy Forbis for conversation and coffee about some of the city’s accomplishments in 2023 and some of the big projects on the horizon in 2024. All are welcome to attend.


Conversation and Coffee will take place on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 9:30 AM in Council Chambers located at 7351 Rosanna Street.

Community Workshop: Affordable Housing 101

Join the City of Gilroy and SV@Home for a FREE Affordable Housing 101 workshop to expand your understanding of affordable housing. The workshop will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 6:00 - 7:00 PM in the Gilroy City Council Chambers, 7351 Rosanna Street.


The workshop is intended for the general public, anyone in the community, who wants to learn more about affordable housing.


The workshop will be held in English with Spanish translation.

🌳 What: Downtown Gilroy Clean-Up Day

📍 Where: Meet at the Downtown Gourmet Parking Lot (located at 7360 Eigleberry Street)


The City will provide trash bags and grabbers. All volunteers will be required to sign a waiver, ensuring everyone's safety.

Santa Teresa Fire Station Staffing Report: Week of 1/12/2024

Last week, the City staffed the Santa Teresa Fire Station as follows:

 

  • 1/19 - 2.0 personnel for 12 hours
  • 1/20 - 2.0 personnel for 12 hours
  • 1/21 - 2.0 personnel for 12 hours 
  • 1/22 - 2.0 personnel for 12 hours
  • 1/23 - 2.0 personnel for 12 hours 
  • 1/24 - 2.0 personnel for 12 hours 
  • 1/25 - 2.0 personnel for 12 hours

 

This weekly report is provided as part of our commitment to transparency regarding the staffing status at the Santa Teresa Fire Station.

❓It is our first time considering a yard sale. Do we need to fill out a form prior to having a yard sale? Can we have a yard sale any weekend during the month?

Yes, there is a permit required (no fee) and you can have garage sales on any weekend of the month. Please click on the link below for more information.

❓Why doesn’t Gilroy build a 3-story public parking lot in the downtown area to meet parking demands? I didn’t see it mentioned in the draft report.

The Downtown Parking Management study determined that there is no need for a parking garage at this time as there is adequate on-street and parking lot spaces to handle current parking demands.
