Check out Marine Corps Veteran Amy Weber’s new electric trike and trailer!
Amy worked diligently for nearly two years with DNEM's Senior Community Information Specialist, Mary Adragna, to make her dream a reality. Her efforts included researching options, securing funding, and determining how to tow a trailer. A shout out to A-1 Fabrication in Roseville for helping with the tow bar customization and free delivery of the trailer before Memorial Day weekend.
To increase visibility, the tow bar was painted yellow, reflectors and reflective tape were installed, and the trike’s turn signals were relocated. Amy added a flagpole with two flags - the American flag and a blue flag with a wheelchair, the universal icon of accessibility. She also attached two reflective signs that say Mobility Device. In the future, she plans to install a removable footrest.
Amy said, “I now have the option, which I didn’t before, to leave and go someplace, anyplace, that I didn’t before. That is the change, the BIG change, that is the quality-of-life change and freedom change.”
We are so happy for you, Amy, and proud of your accomplishment!
