Mike Chamberlin has been singing as long as he's been talking. Musical parents influenced Mike at an early age and by the time he was in grade school, he was already performing. By high school, he was entrenched in Rock 'N Roll music and signed by a record label.
Mike's road to Rock 'N Roll stardom took a left-hand turn when he was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served a tour of duty in Viet Nam and then resumed a music career that led to a gig as a radio DJ and eventually into TV news anchoring.
After 40 years as a TV News/Sports Anchor (and 10 years with ESPN) Mike Chamberlin retired to pursue a long over due music career. Since retiring from TV in 2008, Mike has performed over 2,000 concerts. He’s also authored a book “God Has A sense Of Humor, For Heaven’s Sake.” Mikes Christmas CD and his books will be available following the concert with proceeds going to the DAV, Disabled American Veterans. Mike is a Viet Nam Veteran, having served in Mekong Delta with the 9th Infantry Division.

EWM Hosts Monterey Peninsula Corvette Club
|
|
Sunday, 11/15/20, was a great day to visit the museum and get an unexpected treat! The museum hosted the Monterey Peninsula Corvette Club visit with a guided tour. They were kind enough to show off their Corvettes along our taxiway! Peter Snyder and Betty Miller were the awesome docents, along with Janice Nelson, in training to do tours.

If your automobile club or RV club is looking for a great destination for a tour, make sure you contact Ken Newman at the museum at 805 674-3939.

Another Restoration Completed!
|
|
As you drive into Estrella Warbirds Museum, the first building you see is Thomson Hall, named after one of our founders, Glenn Thomson. This past summer, our restoration crew has been busy adding new signage, a new entrance awning and of course, the new paint scheme. We think they did an outstanding job! Thanks, guys, for a job well done!

New at the Woodland Auto Display

Below is a preview of our latest acquisition, a 1951 Austin fire truck. It was built on the Austin A40 chassis with a tow behind pumper rig powered by a Coventry engine. This was special built to fit the narrow roads of Cheddar Gorge in Somerset, England which was a popular tourist area in England. However, the roads were so narrow that standard size fire trucks were too large to navigate the roads (The Austin automobiles etc. were produced prior to partnering with Donald Healey, thus Austin Healey.)
While this vehicle appears to be complete and in good shape for its' age, it will undergo a major restoration. Currently, we are working on restoring a 1953 Singer and, once completed, we will commence work on the Austin.
