Faculty, Staff Honored at 2025-26 Year-End Awards Ceremony

Faculty and staff members were celebrated for their dedication, collaboration, and impact during the Southwest 2026 Faculty and Staff Awards on April 21 at the Macon Cove Campus.


The annual event brought together employees from across the college to recognize the achievements of colleagues nominated by their peers for exemplary service, leadership, and commitment to the College’s mission. The ceremony underscored the collective culture that drives the institution’s success and its role in serving Memphis and the region.

From Campus to Career: Southwest Hosts MPLOY Memphis Orientation


Southwest will host an MPLOY Memphis Program Orientation on May 2 as part of the city’s youth summer employment initiative. The required session prepares enrolled participants for six weeks of paid work experience, professional development and workplace readiness, reinforcing Southwest’s role in workforce development and higher education access.

Naghshpour Appointed Director of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness


Southwest Tennessee Community College has appointed Parisa Naghshpour as director of institutional effectiveness.


With over a decade of higher education experience, she brings expertise in research, planning and accreditation across diverse institutions.


Naghshpour will lead assessment and effectiveness initiatives supporting accountability, continuous improvement, and the college’s strategic goals.
