PEATC, in collaboration with VDOE, has developed IEP University (IEPU) to help provide families and professionals with accurate and useful information around IEP development and meetings. IEPU is a self-paced online training with easy-to-understand guidance on the special education process, the IEP document, and ways to develop collaborative relationships among schools and families.

In this webcast, Tammy Burns, PEATC, will discuss the role of parents in planning for their child's future. She will review the concepts of family engagement and family involvement and provide examples of each. She will also discuss ways in which the family has an impact on student outcomes.
