FREE THERMOMETERS & MASKS FOR SMALL BIZ
Morris County Freeholders Aid Local Merchants and Honor Small Business Saturday
The Morris County Board of Freeholders authorized the distribution of COVID-19 protective gear to local merchants today, as they unanimously proclaimed Nov. 28, 2020 to be “Small Business Saturday” through a resolution that also urged the public to “Shop Small” after the Thanksgiving holiday.

Infrared thermometers, a 50-count box of face masks and employee signage will be provided to each Morris County business owner who applies for the supplies, for as long as those supplies last. The gear is intended to help small merchants keep employees safe, protect customers and continue to do business under increasing operational restrictions imposed by the state in response to the pandemic. HEALTH & SAFETY STANDARDS FOR EMPLOYERS
Executive Order 192 - Health & Safety Standards for Employers
Every business, non-profit, governmental, and educational entity that requires or permits its workforce to be physically present at a worksite must abide by a minimum standard to protect employees, customers, and others who come into contact with its operations.
TIPS FOR STAYING SAFE DURING THE HOLIDAYS
Given the current surge in COVID-19 cases, everyone should celebrate Thanksgiving with members of their household only. If you do gather with other households, keep plans as small as possible and consistent with public health guidance. College students returning home should quarantine for 14 days before interacting with family members and should consider getting tested before leaving campus. The Department of Health strongly recommends against families taking residents out of long-term care facilities for holiday celebrations.
