Thank you for supporting sentencing reform in the past. Please join us next Tuesday for an important update. On August 29 from 1:30-2:30pm, join us to hear about important legislation this year, Senate Bill SB 94, that is part of a multi-year effort to end harsh Life without Parole sentencing. This presentation will feature guest speaker, Dortell Williams from Families United to End Life Without Parole will be addressing the important question "Is anyone really ir-redeemable?"

SB 94 would give judges discretion to review 30+ year-old cases of persons serving the sentence of life without the possibility of parole, a sentence that Dortell has served 34 years.

Dortell’s supporters and community view him as redeemed, though he is serving a sentence that denies his redeemability. Dortell has met every criteria toward rehabilitation, including earning seven academic degrees and a doctorate in ministry.

During our discussion, Dortell Williams will explain why SB 94 is important, and describe what living without hope or redemption means and how this approach is at odds with the tenets of redemption in every major faith group. He will highlight the fact that God used three different figures of people convicted of murder, in three different historical time periods, who played very prominent roles in laying the foundation for creating beloved and welcoming communities.

Please join us on Zoom for our exciting discussion and what you can do to help SB 94 become law!
