THANK YOU FOR ATTENDING REALTOR® & GOVERNMENT DAY 2021
With the first ever all virtual format, another successful REALTOR® & Government Day is in the books. Thanks to the GMAR members who attended. We had an impressive show from Legislators during the breakout session as we discussed WRA’s priority issues. (Workforce Housing, Broadband Expansion, Property Taxes and Landlord COVID losses)

Get out your calendars and add February 9, 2022 for the next Realtor & Government Day!
APRIL IS FAIR HOUSING MONTH
HERE ARE SOME WAYS YOU CAN CELEBRATE
During Fair Housing Month, real estate agents are uniquely positioned to show their continued support for providing accessible housing opportunities to everyone, regardless of their membership in one of the seven nationally recognized protected classes, or any of the state-recognized ones. Here are some upcoming virtual events you can attend to show your support for fair housing this month.

APRIL 15, 1:00pm - "The Past, Present and Future of Fair Housing" The event will stream live on NAR’s Facebook page.

APRIL 23, 8:00am - 12:00pm - Annual Fair Housing Community Conference, Restructuring Institutional Reform

APRIL 28 and 29, 1:00pm - 6:00pmDiversity and Fair Housing Summit, a two-day virtual summit put on by the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) and intended to “shed light on the cultural and institutional biases that continue to persist in our country.”
ONGOING CONCERN OVER BUYER LOVE LETTERS
An ongoing topic of concern among members has been buyer love letters and the possibility of violating Fair Housing Laws. The primary discussion regarding buyer letters is the risk they will contain information that will lead to the seller deciding among comparable offers based upon the buyer’s personal characteristics relative to the fair housing protected classes. The letters might provide information to a seller enabling them to choose an offer based, for example, upon the race, family status, sexual orientation or religion of the buyers.

Here are some resources the WRA has on the topic in their legal publications.

SEND US YOUR VACCINATION SELFIE
If you’ve recently had a COVID-19 vaccine, send us a selfie!
If you have one from when you received your shot, with your vaccine card, or just you post-vaccine, please send it to us so we can add it to our Facebook and Instagram accounts, and encourage all REALTORS® to get their vaccine. Please send your pictures to Emily Simonelli if you would like it posted.
