GMAR CALL TO ACTION
The GMAR is teaming up with the SE WI Emergency Support Group to provide home-cooked meals and personal care items to those in need, and WE NEED YOUR HELP!

GMAR member Rochelle Gamauf started the volunteer effort 9 weeks ago. Rochelle and her team of volunteers have cooked hundreds of meals, purchased personal care items, and delivered them to dozens of families, the elderly, and others in the metropolitan area.

Tomorrow they will do it again! Cooking, packing, and delivering a weeks worth of meals and other supplies to those in need. Their list of those who need their help is growing daily.

You can help in 2 ways:

  1. Make a donation on their Go Fund Me page. They’re $3,600 toward their $5,000 goal. Proceeds are being used to upgrade their operation from volunteers’ kitchens to the commercial kitchen at the Waukesha County Expo Center.
  2. Purchase some of the items listed below and take them to one of the drop-off locations:

  • GMAR Office, 12300 W. Center Street, Wauwatosa (1 mile west of Mayfair Mall) – 8:30AM to 5:00PM
  • Chiropractic Partners, 1720 Dolphin Dr., Suite E, Waukesha, WI 53186 – 8:30AM to 5:00PM
  • WI State Fair Park & Ride (NE Corner of the Fairgrounds off of 76th Street) – Fridays 10:00AM to 11:00AM

GMAR OFFICE TO REOPEN, EMPLOYING COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS
The GMAR office will reopen for meetings and other business with the following precautions:

All guests to the GMAR office and meeting participants will be required to wear a mask. Please bring a mask with you. If you don’t have one, the GMAR will provide you one, while supply lasts.

The GMAR Staff will provide hand sanitizing stations in all meetings and throughout the building.

Proper social distancing, defined as being at least 6’ apart, will be adhered to. All meetings will be physically arranged to accommodate these procedures.

The GMAR will work diligently to maintain a sanitary environment in the office.

The GMAR is committed to doing what we can to keep our members and staff safe.
COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS - IT'S THE SELLERS' CALL
The GMAR has received several calls and complaints from sellers, explaining that the directives for showing their properties are not being followed.
If the seller requires visitors to their home to wear a mask or shoe coverings, then you must wear a mask or shoe coverings.

Cooperate agents need to remind their buyers that it is the seller’s right to make reasonable showing requirements. If the buyer refuses, you cannot let them see the property. Nanny cams are also watching!

Listing agents, make sure that the sellers’ rules are clearly posted along with your showing instructions.
GOV. TONY EVERS PLANS GRANTS FOR BUSINESSES AFFECTED BY COVID-19
Gov. Tony Evers plans to hand out $75 million to small businesses that have lost money because they were shut down by the coronavirus pandemic, he announced Monday.
Businesses are eligible to receive grants of $2,500 each to help cover costs such as insurance and wages. The grants will be available to businesses with 20 or fewer employees that were affected by the pandemic and have not already received assistance from the state economic development corporation. As many as 30,000 businesses could receive grants.

KMC WINE & BEER TASTING POSTPONED
The GMAR Kettle Moraine Council has decided to post pone our 2020 Wine & Beer Tasting event until 2021. We want to thank everyone who has sponsored and participated in the past. We would also like to encourage you to make a donation to the GMAR Youth Foundation this year as all fund raising events have been canceled. We look forward to seeing you next year at this event.
USING OTHER AGENT'S PHOTOS WITHOUT PERMISSION IS, WELL...STEALING!
You simply cannot use other agents’ photos without permission. The GMAR has received a large volume of these complaints lately. Photos are the intellectual property of the broker who had taken the photo or paid to have them taken. In addition, taking photos that do not belong to you is also a violation of MLS rules and copy right rules.

THE GMAR IS PREPARING FOR A SENTRILOCK LOCKBOX AUDIT
The GMAR is in the midst of conducting an audit of the SentriLock lockbox system. SentriLock has urged us to conduct an audit periodically, because, over time, some agents build up an excess of boxes compared to the number of listings they have had recently.

The GMAR has 9,000 lockboxes as part of its SentriLock lease. There are 8,605 in members’ hands, but only 2,747 on listings right now.

In order to assure that there are enough boxes to put on upcoming listings, the GMAR will be sending each member an email with a target number of lockboxes for them to hold on to. We’re basing the target number on the average number of listings members have had over the last 6 months.

We are very aware that listings may have slowed recently, and we will make every effort to make sure each member has an adequate number of boxes in the short-term, as well as access to additional boxes in the future.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation as we undertake our first SentriLock audit in the next few weeks. If you have any questions, please contact Emily or Alberta .
