Dumont Senior Apartments Wait List Opening

The Housing Authority of Bergen County is pleased to announce that beginning Monday, January 9, 2023, at 9:00 am through Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 11:59 pm pre-applications will be available for David F. Roche Apartments located at 2 Aladdin Avenue, Dumont, New Jersey 07628 for income eligible senior citizens 62 years of age and older. David F. Roche Apartments consists of 99 one-bedroom apartments. The HABC will accept applications ONLINE ONLY.

Pre-applications will be available online only at:

The application will not be available before 9:00am on Monday, January 9, 2023

NOTE FROM THE NAVIGATOR: Applications will be accepted all week long until Thursday, January 12 at 11:59 pm, so there is no rush to apply exactly at 9 am on Monday, 1/9.

You will most likely be asked to create a user name and password in order to access the application.

If you already have a user name and password you created to access another application in the past, use that one--you don't have to create a new one.

Another way to access the application on January 9th is to go to the Housing Authority of Bergen County's home page https://habcnj.org/

Assistance completing online pre-applications will be provided by the Housing Authority at One Bergen County Plaza, 2nd Floor, Hackensack, NJ 07601. Staff will be made available to assist with the completion of pre-applications from Monday January 9, 2023 through Thursday January 12, 2023 between 9:00 am and 3:30 pm. In our continued effort to protect our residents, staff and applicants, we require anyone arriving to the Hackensack office to wear a mask.

A random selection lottery will be conducted to select 250 eligible applicants to be placed on the waiting list for future potential vacancies. Submission of a pre-application does not guarantee placement on the waiting list. Only one pre-application per household will be accepted. Written and faxed applications will not be accepted.

To be eligible for the lottery, all completed applications must be received by 11:59 pm on Thursday, January 12, 2023. Applications received after 11:59 pm on Thursday, January 12, 2023, will be declined.

The lottery will take place on Friday, January 27, 2023.

To be eligible to apply, the head of household must be 62 years of age or older with an annual gross income which cannot exceed the following income limits:

FOR DAVID F. ROCHE PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WHO LIVE, WORK, TRAIN, OR ATTEND SCHOOL IN BERGEN COUNTY. THE TOP APPLICANTS IN THE LOTTERY WILL BE PLACED IN ORDER OF THEIR PREFERENCE WEIGHT. SELECTED APPLICATIONS WILL BE PLACED ON THE WAITING LIST FOR FUTURE POTENTIAL VACANCIES.
