A gathering place for all...
a place of abundance and belonging...
21 September 2022
Today is the first day of Autumn, and a new season begins!
As autumn is upon us, together we look forward to change and to celebrate the abundance around us. There are lots of new activities and events happening at the centre: whether you have little wee ones joining our weekly playgroup, are staying with us to witness the return of the sockeye, want to deepen your connection with Indigenous community, express your artistic side or celebrate Thanksgiving.

Take a look at some of the upcoming events and join us this fall.
We are excited to welcome Kathie to the Sorrento Centre staff team. She is a long-time friend and joins us this week as a vital member of the senior management team, with a focus on supporting our growing number of events, activities and programs as we move into our 60th year in 2023. She brings energy, enthusiasm, experience and a strong commitment to the values that guide our Centre. Read more...
In the stillness, I am the trees alive with singing. I am the sky everywhere at once. I am…the wind bearing stories across geographies and generations. I am the light everywhere descending. I am my heart evoking drum song. I am my spirit rising. In the smell of these sacred medicines burning, I am my prayers and my meditation, and I am time captured fully in this NOW. I am a traveler on a sacred journey through this one shining day. Richard Wagamese
Join us for a day of community building, adult education and cultural celebration! Together we will learn about indigenous ways of knowing and our interconnection with nature.

Are you a social agency, a local business, or community service provider who has regular, ongoing contact with adults as part of your work day? Are you a volunteer or family member who cares about the vulnerable seniors you come across in your daily life? Are you curious and interested in what a Community Resource Network is, and want to learn more? This event is for you. And it's free!
Are you longing to create joy and meaning in your life? Want to understand your character strengths and values and how these are your greatest tool-kit?

Here's an opportunity to learn how to use the beauty and wisdom inherent in your own character and values to flourish right where you are! Find out more...
