GFCO Approved Kit List

The list of gluten test kits approved for use by GFCO is now available online! These kits have all completed validation through AOAC or AACCI. The list can be found here and includes a link to the validation report or validation publication for each kit. This list will be regularly updated to include any new methods approved by GFCO.

Reminder

Quarter 3 testing data is due by October 10^th. Be sure to submit your raw material, equipment and/or finished product testing records to testing@gluten.org by that date.

Gluten Risks from Packaging?



Plant-based food contact materials are being researched as potential solutions as many countries are beginning to discourage the use of plastics. The Association of European Coeliac Societies (AOECS) hosted a recent webinar discussing the potential risk from wheat-based food contact materials, such as packaging and biodegradable films, to persons with celiac disease. The safety of these materials for gluten-free consumers will need to be reviewed before they become commonplace in consumer packaged goods. The webinar may be viewed here.
