Wyoming Wildlife Advocates & Jackson Hole Bear Solutions

TONIGHT!

Join us tonight, May 23, at the National Museum of Wildlife Art for appetizers & cocktails at 6:00pm and meet the staff and board of Wyoming Wildlife Advocates & Jackson Hole Bear Solutions. At 7:00pm, former U.S. Fish and Wildlife Grizzly Bear Recovery Coordinator Chris Servheen will speak about the success of the Endangered Species Act and future threats to the bears. A leading expert in grizzly conservation, Dr. Servheen worked for decades to recover grizzly

populations, but in light of the extreme rhetoric by politicians of Wyoming, Montana and Idaho, he says that delisting would be the wrong move right now. Grizzlies still face a myriad of threats and their continued existence into the future would be in jeopardy under state management.

Wyoming politics has long been dominated by livestock interests and the extraction industry to the detriment of our wildlife. The Endangered Species Act is the bedrock federal legislation that protects Wyoming's world class wildlife and critical habitat for present and future generations.

Without our National Parks and federal lands, Wyoming would be a vastly different landscape. We will take a look back at why federal protection is the gold standard for land and species preservation and why it is critical as we enter the Sixth Mass Extinction.

Hope to see you there!
