This in-person program is an introduction to screenwriting craft and technique, with an emphasis on the fundamentals of storytelling. You will learn the essentials of narrative screenwriting like building plot, story structure, creating compelling characters, dialogue and theme. Through a combination of film analysis, writing exercises, and peer review, we will work together on screenwriting skills and storytelling techniques that are useful for all types of visual media (film screenplays, web series, TV pilots, theater plays, etc.)
This workshop is also great for anyone who may be interested in building a foundation for a novel as we will discuss themes, brainstorming and dynamic characters!

The BAT monthly storytelling exchange is a night of immersing into the art of oral storytelling. It’s a place to try out a story idea, present a draft story or rehearse a story - true or fictional. If the teller wishes, the group provides constructive feedback.

Young people ages 10-18 are invited to join Artist Jade Zimmerman for six classes on painting at North Branch Library. You will dabble in oils, watercolors, and acrylics! Jade Zimmerman is a rising high school senior and artist who has loved making visual art her entire life. She a published artist and her work is currently on exhibit at the von Auersberg Gallery at Deerfield Academy. She is passionate about drawing and painting and enjoys learning art history. Jade’s mission is to make art more accessible to others, especially youth.
