On June 6th, the Vista Chamber of Commerce turned 99!

Get grants of up to $2,000 per employee out on Paid Family Leave


Do you have employees out on California Paid Family Leave? The California Paid Familiy Leave Grant (CPFLG) allows eligible small businesses in California with 1-100 employees with at least one (1) employee utilizing California’s Paid Family Leave program to apply for grants up to $2,000 per employee to offset the increased costs associated with the employee out on leave.

 

Businesses impacted by California’s Paid Family Leave program will have increased costs such as training and upskilling existing staff to cover the duties of the employee on California’s Paid Family Leave; hiring and training additional staff to cover the duties of the employee on California’s Paid Family Leave; and marketing, recruitment, and other reasonably foreseeable training costs.

Feeding San Diego Adds New Food Distribution Sites at 10 County Libraries to Address Childhood Hunger

Feeding San Diego, the hunger-relief and food rescue non-profit, has partnered with San Diego County Library branches to host food distributions this summer. Starting this month, 10 new sites will be in operation at various locations throughout the county, from Valley Center to Spring Valley to Oceanside.

Microbusinesses Get More Time to Apply for $2,500 County Grants

The smallest of San Diego County's small businesses ― from dog walkers to tutors, sidewalk vendors and everything in between ― now have more time to apply for a free $2,500 County grant . The deadline for "microbusinesses" hurt by COVID-19 to apply for the second round of $2,500 grants has been extended from June 24 to July 15.

Filing Period to Open for Property Tax Assessment Appeals

San Diego County residents and businesses who disagree with their property tax assessments for the 2022-2023 Fiscal Year may file an application to appeal their value between July 2 and Nov. 30. The Clerk of the County Assessment Appeals Board, Andrew Potter, announced the filing period Thursday.

Landlord Incentive Program

Landlords - participate in programs that are helping Homeless Individuals, Families and Veterans overcome the challenges of homelessness and lead independent lives. According to the 2019 Regional Taskforce on the Homeless Point-in-Time Count in San Diego County, there are 8,102 homeless people in our region. Approximately 3,626 are sleeping in emergency shelters with 4,476 unsheltered.

The Vista Historical Society is starting a new fundraiser. For $150, you can have three lines inscribed on a brick that will be placed on the Museum grounds, beginning with areas along the walkways.
