THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR IS HERE!

The end of the school year is a very important time for children. It is a time to recognize and share how much they have accomplished. The End of the School Year Program at Starmaker is no exception. The Primary classrooms and the Elementary programs will participate in the graduation program while the lower school – Infants through Preprimaries will host activities in their respective classrooms. It is common for Montessori schools to mark the end of the year with a day where parents, grandparents, teachers and children can celebrate the children’s accomplishments.

This year our End of the Year Program and Picnic will be held on Friday, June 7 ^th . The graduation program will be held in the P2/P3 environment, which will be followed by a school-wide picnic.

This is also a good time of year to stop and think about how your children have changed through their Montessori experience at Starmaker. The following are outcomes of a Montessori education. As you read these, think about your own children and how they have changed and grown from their year(s) at Starmaker. Read more ...

STREAM COTTAGE ACTIVITIES

Students have been observing the Hatch a Chicken program in the STREAM Cottage where there were several eggs waiting to be hatched! A couple of them hatched this week with a few more to go! Discuss the process with your children to learn what they are learning.

What is Cerebral Palsy?

Cerebral palsy is a developmental disorder and leading cause of disability in young children. It affects approximately 500,000 children and adults, with around 8,000 babies and between 1,200 and 1,500 preschool-age children diagnosed each year.

Cerebral palsy occurs as a result of a brain injury sustained during fetal development or birth. However, because the symptoms of CP affect a child’s coordination and independent movement, the injury is not always diagnosed right away, especially when the symptoms are mild.
