Legislation Waiting for the Governor's Signature

Many bills important to LGBT communities passed out of the state Assembly and Senate earlier this month, and now we're waiting to see what to Governor Brown will do.

Now is the time to send in comment letters to the Governor's office!

Reducing Disparities Project - Call for Proposals

Proposals are due October 23 by 3 pm
 
California's Office of Health Equity has released the solicitations for Phase II of the California Reducing Disparities Project (CRDP) funded by the Mental Health Services Act. Community organizations are particularly encouraged to respond to the solicitations for the Capacity Building and Implementation Pilot Projects, which will fund community-based promising practices to improve mental health in communities of color and LGBT communities.

Addenda to the proposals were issued September 17, and answers to questions have been posted online. Please be sure to look at these resources if you're submitting a proposal.

Affordable Care Act Non-Discrimination Draft Rules
 
On September 8, the Dept of Health and Human Services released proposed regulations implementing Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act. Section 1557 prohibits discrimination on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability in any health program or activity receiving federal money or administered under the ACA.

Public comment is due November 6
Directions for submitting comments can be found in the text of the proposed regulations.
