Miami Township sets course for the future
After two years of work, Miami Township has a new comprehensive plan. The Community Development Department created The Plan as an in-depth guide to the township’s current needs and what our priorities are for future growth. Input from the business sector and citizens was crucial to its development. The Board of Trustees gave final approval of the document at its March 15, 2022, meeting. New officers sworn in
The Miami Township Police Department officially swore-in five new officers to the force. They were introduced to the Board of Trustees at the March 15 meeting. Kurtis Green, Nick Peters, Liam Foley, McKenzie Pierce and Dakota Cox, are already out on patrol.
Longtime detective retires
The Board of Trustees honored retiring police detective, Todd Comer, at the March 15 meeting. Comer retires after 33-years with the Miami Township Police Department. He was recently honored with two state awards for his dedication to service.
April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month
If you are texting, talking on the phone, eating, or anything else while driving, you are endangering yourself and others. April is Distracted Driving Awareness month. Miami Township police officers will be increasing patrols through April to stop distracted driving in our community. READ MORE
The Miami Township Police Department has established a new Parking Bureau. It handles non-criminal parking offenses. The bureau was approved by the Board of Trustees at its March 1 meeting.
