Louisiana Elementary Student of the Year Finalist, Gannon Ford, completes his Student of the Year interview. |
FFA Carpentry team members, Matthew Arceneaux, Wyatt Olsen, Caleb Stuart, and Hayden Travis, compete in the Craft Olympics held at Associated Builders & Contractors and sponsored by Industrial Carpentry Contractors. Teams were given a set of plans and materials, and two hours to frame a 4x8 storage shed. Team members also had to take a written test. The West Feliciana team placed first in the contest!

FFA Electrical team members, Jackson Felker, Justin Gremillion and Chip Joiner, compete in the Craft Olympics held at Associated Builders & Contractors and sponsored by Industrial Electrical Contractors. They were assigned 3 circuits that they had to plan, diagram, and install in an hour and a half. Team members also had to take a written test. The West Feliciana team placed first in the contest. Chip Joiner had the second highest individual score of all competitors, and Justin Gremillion had the third highest score of all competitors.

We were very honored to recognize Mr. Sam LeBlanc and Mr. Sammy Bougeus's donations of two sculptures that are a part of Bains Lower's Imagination and Creation Garden. WFHS Senior, Brooklyn Phelan, created two pieces of canvas illustrating the garden and sculptures. We gave both pieces of artwork to the gentleman in appreciation for their donation. | |
Students in Mrs. Dieguez’s classes used their Spanish skills in a Latino supermarket, La Morenita, where they ordered their meal in Spanish and completed a scavenger hunt looking for unfamiliar foods. | Abbie Pittman showcases her artwork during the Senior Art Exhibit, “When Worlds Align.” | |
Cadets participate in a physical training competition in which they completed a one-mile run, dead hang pull ups, push-ups and curl ups for a combined score. Cadets include: R’Mya Smith, Kaleb Henyard, Rachael Gosserand, Matthew Gosserand, Treyse Andrus, Ethan Buchanan, Brian Hunt and Josh Williams.

Bains Elementary students competed in their classrooms spelling grade level words to crown a homeroom winner. Last night, homeroom winners competed to find a grade level winner. The students did an awesome job spelling and having the courage to speak in front of the audience. Congratulations go to Emmet Kemp (2nd grade), Reese Smith (3rd grade), Braylen Tate (4th grade) and William Kilcrease (5th grade) for winning their respective grade level! | |
WFMS was excited to host Louisiana author, Marti Dumas, last week. She spoke to each grade level during R2L and answered many of their questions and read an excerpt from her latest book, Wildseed Witch. During her visit, she also had lunch with a select group of students and signed books during the Spring Showcase.
