Advocacy Through Industry Storytelling Open Floor Session

Monday, June 8 at 10:00 AM

You're invited to join us on Monday, June 8th at 10:00 AM for the next quarterly Advocacy Through Industry Storytelling "Open Floor" Session. Whether you're facing budget pressures, building relationships with elected officials, seeking community support, or trying something new, this is an opportunity to connect with peers and learn from one another. We'll also gather feedback on the Tourism: It's Everybody's Business materials to help strengthen advocacy resources for the future.

Bring your questions, share challenges, celebrate successes, and exchange ideas. You set the agenda.

During our first session in February, participants shared successful strategies for defending tourism budgets, engaging new legislators, involving residents in advocacy efforts, communicating data effectively to stakeholders, and positioning tourism as a driver of local employment and economic growth. Join us to continue the conversation!

Action Alert: Stop Delayed State Contract Payments for Nonprofits

New York Council on Nonprofits Action Alert

Systematic, unpredictable delays in state contract approvals and payments place an unfair burden on nonprofits, forcing many to rely on costly lines of credit just to keep their doors open and staff paid. The Statewide Contracting Coalition has launched an urgent action alert, while the budget has just passed, this legislative effort will extend through the rest of the session and sustained pressure is needed get it over the finish line.

Take Action Now: Tell State Leaders to Fix Nonprofit Contracting

Funding Restored for the Tourism Matching Grant Program

The final New York State budget includes $3.45 million for the Tourism Matching Funds Program, maintaining funding at its previous level. We thank NYSHTA for its leadership in organizing the annual Tourism Showcase and Lobby Day, where NYSTIA team members joined industry partners in Albany to advocate for tourism priorities across New York State.
