GHOST HOUNDS’ sound is drenched in the most primal and elemental aspects of rock ‘n’ roll-gritty acoustic and electric blues, Southern swagger, road-weary country, stirring soul, hard-hitting FM rock-and shot through with sticky riffs and choruses, deep-in-the-pocket grooves, good-time vibes and engaging, intimate storytelling. It’s a blend they’ve further honed on their fourth and newest full-length, FIRST LAST TIME, which will be released on Friday, July 28 via Gibson Records--the Nashville-based music label delivering guitar-driven music to the forefront of culture--in partnership with Firebird Label Services.
The explosive single “Last Train To Nowhere” made its global TV debut on the premiere episodes of “Special Ops: Lioness” the new show from “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan--which features Zoe Saldana, Nicole Kidman, and Morgan Freeman--out now on Paramount+.
American Songwriter hailed “Last Train To Nowhere” as “deftly slipping into Johnny Cash-style country, mid-tempo balladry, even back-porch folk with the same virtuosity they’ve shown in the past when in their bluesy wheelhouse.” Louder Sound also described the song as a “moody, toe-tapping mix of outlaw feeling and Black Stone Cherry-esque grit.” Watch/share the new performance video for "Last Train To Nowhere," directed by Jay Arcansalin, HERE.
On FIRST LAST TIME, the dusty, gutbucket stomp of opening salvo of the powerful new single “Last Train to Nowhere,” to the bright-toned, anthemic lead single “Dirty Angel,” the barrelhouse piano-inflected rave-up “Chasing You” to the lighthearted and Stones-y romp “Let’s Sleep On It Together,” the country-fied cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Hot Dog” to the all-guns-blazing throttle-rock of “Make It Shake,” the 10-track collection is a dynamic, impassioned and, maybe most importantly, downright fun album that gathers deep and varied musical roots and nurtures them into something distinct, modern and unmistakably GHOST HOUNDS.
Touring has come in all shapes and sizes, from small, sweaty, packed-like-sardines clubs to the largest stages in the world, GHOST HOUNDS have been tapped to open shows for the likes of ZZ TOP, BOB SEGER, and even THE ROLLING STONES. Now, with FIRST LAST TIME, fans old and new can experience that gripping GHOST HOUNDS energy, and those infectious, inimitable songs, all over again. Put it on and turn it up, and then head out to the local club-or, perhaps closest stadium-when GHOST HOUNDS hit your town.
On Thursday, July 27, GHOST HOUNDS will celebrate with official album release parties and performances at the Gibson Garage in downtown Nashville. Stay tuned for more global tour dates to be announced soon.
