Get ready to set sail on a journey through time with the L.A. Dunton, a remarkable sailing schooner that has stood the test of time, and remains as one of the few remaining in the United States. Designed by Thomas McManus and built at the Story shipyard in Essex, Mass in 1921, this vessel provides a link to a time long past. It was a large fishing vessel that was used for haddock and halibut fisheries, landing its rich catches in Boston.
Today, the L.A. Dunton is undergoing a major refit at the Mystic Seaport Museum to ensure it can continue to make waves for generations to come. As part of the restoration process, Jarmak Corp. has provided some of the 3x13 ft heart pine planks that were salvaged from the recent demolition at Brockton High School.
Jarmak Corp. has a longstanding relationship with the Seaport Museum and is dedicated to supplying materials that will help to repair this historic landmark. With a mission to provide reclaimed and sustainable products for the betterment of future generations, Jarmak Corp. is proud to play a part in preserving the legacy of the L.A. Dunton.
