When serious weather conditions or other emergencies make it necessary to close or delay the opening of schools, announcements will be made on the TE All-Call Mass Communication System, the TESD website, the T/E Information Hotline - (610) 240-1970, T/E TV on Comcast Cable Channel 14 and Verizon Channel 20, as well as on local television stations. Parents are encouraged to establish emergency procedures with their children ahead of time to prepare for early school closings.
Automated phone calls, text messages and emails will be sent to parents through the TE All-Call system, powered by SchoolMessenger. Please contact your school's main office if you need to add or change one of your contact numbers for TE All-Call.

When to Keep Your Child Home
There may be times when you're not sure it is necessary to keep your child home from school. Here are some symptoms that may mean your child is sick and should stay home.
  • Fever (100 degrees Fahrenheit or above)
  • Chills
  • Running or inflamed eyes or nose
  • Rash
  • Abdominal pain
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Sore throat
  • Enlarged glands
  • Excessive coughing
A child should remain at home at least 24 hours with no fever, diarrhea, or vomiting following an illness. Please notify the school that your child will be absent and send a note stating the dates and reason for absence.
By following these guidelines, you will protect not only the health of your child, but the health of his classmates and school staff as well!

IKEA will now Recycle Mattresses
Each year, an estimated 15 to 20 million mattresses and box springs are disposed of in the U.S., according to the
Mattress Recycling Council . Each day, 50,000 mattresses end up in landfills or are illegally dumped. Due to their size, mattresses take up lots of valuable landfill space and are difficult to compress. This new national program is part of IKEA's People and Planet Positive Sustainability strategy that was launched in October 2012. It shows a commitment to make mattresses easier for consumers to recycle. Click here for more information.
