Opportunities to Boost Holiday Sales
|
|
Take Advantage of Special Marketing Events
|
|
November 2021 leads us into the second holiday season of the COVID-19 pandemic and retail business analysts predict that as more people feel confident about shopping in person in-store sales will likely increase this year. Additionally, online sales are expected to grow this season and may in fact bring the highest returns for some retailers.
As you plan your holiday sales strategy it is important to be mindful that the trend in recent years has been for businesses to start pitching holiday deals well before Thanksgiving. Some have their campaigns planned or up and running months in advance. If you are not among the early starters, there is still time to swing into action and get your message out to potential buyers in time for holiday shoppers to respond.
Each November small vendors have opportunities to benefit from special marketing events with dates set aside specifically for the purpose of encouraging consumers to buy from small businesses. Try taking advantage of these events to sell more of your goods and services.
Black Friday - November 26, 2021
Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, is typically the busiest shopping day of the year in the United States. Forbes.com recently reported Black Friday 2021 is expected to be the busiest ever. This is a prime opportunity to reach potential customers as many consumers spend at least a portion of the day in search of savings on holiday gifts. Try creating exciting offers and customer experiences online in advance of Black Friday, perhaps offering incentives such as special pricing to those who decide to buy early.
If you plan to offer holiday deals online this season, you might sell more by making your promotions mobile-friendly. For the past two years, more than two-thirds of Black Friday retail sales were made on mobile devices while approximately one-third of sales were made on desktop devices, according to Businesswire.com.
Small Business Saturday - November 27, 2021
Each year, Small Business Saturday is observed on the Saturday after Thanksgiving to help businesses throughout the country attract people in their communities to their locations. As COVID health guidelines and consumers' personal safety concerns may continue to slow foot traffic for many businesses, sellers may find greater profit in creating special deals and experiences customers can buy online. Another option is to offer a combination of face-to-face and virtual deals that allow buyers to choose between doing business in-person and or online.
Cyber Monday - November 29, 2021
Cyber Monday, the first Monday after each Thanksgiving, is designed to encourage people to shop online. Cyber Monday sales and online sales in general increased in 2020 as COVID health guidelines caused many organizations to take product and service offerings online, many for the very first time. Meanwhile, many seasoned online sellers ramped up their e-commerce efforts last year to increase profits.
Online sales are expected to continue growing in 2021, with many companies expected to advertise Cyber Monday deals long before the actual date.
Giving Tuesday - November 30, 2021
Giving Tuesday, observed the Tuesday after each Thanksgiving, is a global generosity movement that encourages people to transform the world by giving to local charities. One of the best perks of business ownership is the ability to make a positive impact in our community. For updates and to select Las Vegas area charities to support visit GivingTuesday.org.
