Trimble Business Center is a powerful software tool for all phases of construction. This course is intended for construction contractors, data managers, surveyors and engineers who would like to have an understanding of how Trimble Business Center is used in construction technology.

 

This is an introductory class and prerequisite for more advanced TBC classes. We will cover self-help tools, project settings, using templates, importing data, viewing tools and other basic concepts used throughout most TBC workflows. We will also introduce the TBC add-on editions that unlock the full power of Trimble Business Center.

 

Attendees must have the latest version of Trimble Business Center loaded on PC along with a wheeled mouse before attending course. Sample data will be provided.

Data Prep - Trimble Business Center V2024.XX

We will cover:

  • Importing multiple data types
  • Standardized layers
  • Elevate contours/lines
  • Create surfaces
  • Clean up drawing file
  • View/Check surface
  • Understand Data Prep menu
  • Export to Earthworks and Siteworks

We will cover:

  • Create surfaces using site modeling tools
  • Import PDF vector/raster
  • Basic heads-up digitizing
  • Topsoil stripping/replacement   
  • Creating subgrade adjustments
  • Reporting - cut/fill map/PDF/Excel

Construction 101: Basic Construction Surveying

Tuesday January 14 2025, 8:00am – 11:30am

This course is intended for site supervisors, foremen, grade checkers, laborers, and new hires to our industry.

 

This class will be for general construction survey and math. Class will cover use of basic lasers, setup and use of survey grade levels, instrument care, setting basic elevations using benchmarks and laser/grade rod, simple construction math, and setup and use of total station for construction layout.

New GPS Site Set-Up and Calibration

Tuesday January 14, 1:00pm – 4:30pm

This course is intended for construction contractors, office data managers, surveyors and engineers who wish to become familiar with data requirements and how to set up and calibrate a new GPS site for layout and 3D machine control

UTS Set-Up for Site Positioning, Machine Control, and 3D Paving

Wednesday January 15 2025, 8:00am - 11:30am

This course will teach you how to get the most out of your SPS930 “UTS” and other SPS robotic total stations on the jobsite. We will cover how to field calibrate and set up your robot for field and machine operation. We will cover basic site layout and measurements. We will also show you how to hand off the UTS to get the machine up and going.

Trimble Worksmanager Training

Wednesday January 15 2025, 1:00pm - 4:00pm

This course is intended for construction contractors, office data managers, surveyors and engineers who wish to become familiar with data management of construction data utilizing Trimble Worksmanger for two-way data syncing. This course will cover the web user interface and Trimble Business Center workflows for Worksmanager.

Trimble Siteworks Field Software

Thursday January 16, 8:00am – 11:30am

Location – SITECH of Indiana

This course is intended for site supervisors, foremen, and grade checkers.

 

This course will teach students how to setup a GPS rover and basic functionality of Trimble Siteworks field software. Data file structure and file management will be discussed for the TSC5, TSC7, and Trimble Tablet style data collectors. Components of site positioning will be discussed, as well as how to operate the components. Along with basic grade checking and stakeout we will also discuss topographic surveying, volume calculation, line stakeout, feature stakeout, and other features of Siteworks. This class is both classroom and field training.

Thursday January 16, 1:00pm – 4:30pm

This course is intended for machine operators that need to understand and use Trimble Earthworks machine control.

This course will teach components needed for GPS Machine Control, installing the components, basic screens and menus in the GPS display, and daily machine operation techniques.
