YUBA CITY — Caltrans is alerting motorists that construction work will resume starting today on the State Route 20 Safety Improvement Project between Gray Avenue and Clark Avenue in Yuba City.

Construction is expected to continue for approximately two months and will include improvements to curb ramps, sidewalks, drainage facilities, and roadway features that are designed to enhance safety for all users.

Traffic Impacts

Beginning today motorists can expect:

  • Daytime lane closures Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • One lane closed in either the eastbound or westbound direction as construction activities progress through the work zone
  • Delays are expected and motorists should allow extra travel time

Several weeks of night work will also be required later in the project. Nighttime operations are currently anticipated to begin in late July. Additional information will be provided as schedules are finalized.

Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
