April 1 Deadline Approaching to Submit Course Adoptions

Dear Faculty,

As a reminder, Idaho State University is moving to a new course material model that will reduce the cost of materials for students and ensure they have all their materials across all courses prior to the first day of class. To ensure the best student experience possible for the ISU Book Bundle model to be in place for the Fall 2024 term, please submit your course material selections by April 1.

How does this change affect your courses and materials?

With this new model, there are no restrictions in the course materials you select for your course. All course materials, from any publisher, in your preferred format are included in the program. The only requirement is that your course material selections are turned into the bookstore by the adoption deadline of April 1.

How does this change affect students?

Instead of purchasing materials a la carte, the cost for required textbooks and other course materials will be packaged with student's tuition and fees for a flat fee of $24.75/credit hour. The ISU Bookstore will provide each student with a convenient package of physical books, which can be picked up in store or delivered to their home. Digital materials will be delivered directly to Moodle.

Students do not need to shop around for their course materials and will have all materials prior to the first day of class. However, they may choose to opt out of the ISU Book Bundle program each semester if they find that the total cost or convenience of the bundle does not benefit them for that term.

Your Next Steps:

It is critical for the success of the program that you submit your course material selections no later than April 1.

Thank you for your support in launching this exciting program for our students!
