Poetry in the Mansion at Rockwood Park

Animals have long inspired poetry of all sorts – from the profound to the downright nonsensical. Poet in Residence David P. Kozinski will read and discuss poems by William Butler Yeats, Elizabeth Bishop, Ogden Nash, and Anna Seward, among others, as well as some of his own. Hike & Brunch Explores Foraging at Rockwood Park

Guest lecturers take brunch crowds on a 60-90 minute walk/hike through Rockwood and its adjoining parks to dig into a variety of natural topics. The themed brunches are provided by Prime Hospitality and always feature our signature blood marys. From mushrooms to minerals, this schedule will delight every palette and interest. $40 per person

Ice and Indigo Dyeing Class at The Art Studio

First learn how to ice dye. Create a one-of-a-kind pattern, creating unique works of beauty that you can wear or display around your home. In the second class learn how to indigo dye. The fabric first comes out of the dye bath bright green and turns to deep blue right before your eyes. Dye and choice of 1 item per day to dye is provided. Bring your own additional cotton/linen items to dye (no larger than a t-shirt). $49, $42 NCC residents plush an additional $40 material fee due to instructor. Ages 16 - adults

Furniture Painting 101 at The Art Studio

This is the perfect workshop if you're new to painting furniture or want to learn more about Fusion Mineral Paint. We'll cover all the steps, from prep to finish, as well as review the many ways to refresh and restyle your home with a pot of paint, a few basic tools, and some imagination! Each participant will paint a small wood project. Techniques covered: preparing the surface, painting without brush strokes, two-color distressing, topcoats, and finishing touches. $32.50, $27.50 NCC residents with an additional $20 material fee due to instructor. Join us for a relaxing yoga flow taught by Amy Kendall (200-hour RYT)! Amy will lead you through a 60-minute yoga session consisting of a series of movements to stretch and strengthen the body. Goth Ball at Rockwood

An Evening at Rockwood will celebrate the preservation of this 1800s Gothic Revival treasure house and garden with live music, spooky estate tours, paranormal presentations, and an open bar!


Highlights of this fundraiser include:

Fall Sleep Under the Stars

The Fall Sleep Under the Stars is New Castle County's premier fall family event. Families are welcome to come just for the day's activities even if they don't want to camp overnight. Families enjoy a day of fun fall activities and then can camp overnight in beautiful Carousel Park. Enjoy bonfires, a movie under the stars, a DJ, a Monster Mash dance party, spooky tent decorating, tent-to-tent trick-or-treating, fall crafts, food trucks, and more. Don't forget your s'mores fix'ns! $25 per car. Space is limited. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Tent only camping. All ages.

We are now accepting vendor applications for the 4th Annual Art Fest Outdoor Art Fair in The Town of Whitehall from artists, crafters, and homemade vendors. Art Fest at Whitehall will take place Saturday, April 27, 2024, from 10 am-2 pm (Rain Date: Sunday, April 28, 2024, from 10 am-2 pm) in the Town of Whitehall, 801 Mapleton Ave, Middletown, Delaware 19709. This free, outdoor, public event celebrates local and regional artists and makers who display and sell their artwork and goods.
