Our Leadership Message
No matter where you live and work in Canada, if you work in insurance, you’ve experienced the impact of extreme weather events in your own life and the lives of your customers. I won’t give you another set of statistics – you know them as well as I do.

Behind those disturbing statistics are people: people’s lives, homes, livelihoods, businesses.

The insurance industry has long provided leadership in Canada on climate change and extreme weather risks. It’s imperative that we continue to provide that leadership, in dialogues with government, industry and each other, and in our hands-on support of customers.

Across Intact, as we reflect on lessons from 2022 and begin planning for 2023, building resilience is very much top of mind for us. We know that you will be instrumental in this: Brokers play a critical role in building resilience in the communities in which we work and live.
You see your customers' needs, vulnerabilities and, when a catastrophe hits, its full consequences. You are the ones who ensure that customers know what their risks are and how to best mitigate them, both through insurance solutions and prevention measures.

So – how do you think the insurance industry can build resilience in our communities? What roles do you see insurers and brokers playing? How can we best work together?
