Real Questions From Real People
Can you tell me what is going up on the property south of the Lake County Fair Grounds, closer to Peterson Rd.?
The building will be the headquarters for a Japanese manufacturer. The company is Okabe and the 130,000 square foot facility includes offices, manufacturing and distribution spaces. Construction has just started so no finish date yet but it is a matter of months. There is room on the site to expand the facility by another 200,000 square feet in the future.

Mundelein Cert Class in October
Do you know what to do in an emergency? Are you ready to take care of yourself, your family, and neighborhood? Did the recent flooding in our community or the natural disasters happening around the globe spark your interest in obtaining training to have the skills to volunteer and give back to those in need? If so, consider joining the Mundelein Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) for a weekend of training on emergency preparedness.
People who go through CERT training have a better understanding of the potential threats to their home, workplace, and community and can take the right steps to lessen the effects of these hazards. Training is free to individuals 18 years of age or older (or those 16 and 17 years old with a permission slip and waiver from their parents). Individuals who complete the course and live within a 10-mile radius of the Village of Mundelein are invited to join the team, although this is not a requirement.
Training will take place at Mundelein Fire station #1 at 1000 N Midlothian. Dates and times for training are Friday October 13 6:00-10:00 pm, Saturday October 14 8:00-4:00 pm, and Sunday October 15 8:00-4:00 pm. Visit the Mundelein CERT website
