This is a friendly reminder that Hawaiian Electric acceptable utility meter sockets shall:

  1. Conform to the National Electric Code (NEC), American National Standard Institute (ANSI), C12.7 & C12.10 and all local regulations,
  2. Be in compliance with the latest requirements of the Electric Utility Service Equipment Requirements Committee (EUSERC),
  3. Be ring-type

Because your safety is important to us, these requirements are stated in the latest edition, currently 9th edition, of Hawaiian Electric’s Electrical Service Installation Manual (ESIM).

Should you prefer initial verification, please submit the manufacturer’s specification sheet(s) indicating, but not limited to, the meter socket catalog number and the requirements listed above to your assigned planner.
