Reminders, Repackaging and Readiness
10- 17- 19
Wednesday became Thursday, and the rain was replaced by wind . Yet, through these changes, there is one constant, an email letting you know about items of interest, things to read, do and more. One prior BKCB6 email, with a little repackaging, was even published by Bklyner .

As I mentioned yesterday, none of our committees are meeting this week, but a lot is happening. Tonight, at The Miccio Center , there is the 2 nd of 2 school rezoning meetings . Check out coverage of the first meeting, which highlights opposition to the plan. The S outhwest Brooklyn Tenants Union also has a meeting tonight, which will be held at 201 Columbia Street .

Next week 2 of our committees will meet. On Wednesday, our Youth, Human Services and Education Committee meets at the Red Hook Library to hear about plans for the library's redesign, as well as a presentation from the NYC 2020 Census Complete Count . On Thursday, October 24 th our Landmarks/ Land Use Committee meets to review a lone landmark application.

But before those meetings happen, we get to enjoy the weekend. There will be Gowanus Open Studios , Portside will have an open house on Saturday, and, on Sunday, you can get a free flu shot (needed if not enjoyed) at Assemblymember Carroll’s office, but please remember to.call (718)788-7221 to reserve your shot.

It's a month away but mark your calendar for the CEC’s November 15 th Middle School forum . Speaking of things happening in November, I want to remind everyone that our next full board meeting will take place at M.S 51 on Wednesday, November 13 th, and begin at 6:30 PM. if you have time, read about the readiness of the city’s workforce and a floating future .”

Just like today, alternate side parking(ASP) will be in effect tomorrow, Friday, October 18th , and mimicking this week, ASP will be suspended next Monday and Tuesday . As always, the trains and buses will have some planned service changes.

That’s all I’ve got for today, but, as always, I hope you have a good evening and feel free to share this information any way you’d like.
