When the Y reopens on Friday (August 28) one of our new safety procedures requires that all members and employees complete a health scan before entering any facility.

You can take your screening in advance using Y ROC Health Scan or, if you do not use Y ROC Health Scan, you must complete an in-person health scan when you arrive at the Y.

Another new procedure is advance registration for programs like group exercise, lap swim, and child watch. This is necessary to help us ensure we stay with our 33% capacity. If you have questions about how to register we created an article with videos to walk you through the process. View how to register for classes here.

You can find these resources and more on the YMCA of Greater Rochester App.

The YMCA of Greater Rochester is reopening safely and slowly, and in a financially responsible way. To do that, we have decided to take a phased approach when it comes to reopening.

We are also basing our phased reopening decision on guidance we have received from the New York State Department of Health. The NYSDOH has encouraged all health and fitness facilities to implement a phase-in reopening of activities to allow for operational issues to be resolved before certain activities return to levels experienced prior to closure. That includes limiting hours of operation and member usage during those hours, providing the Y the ability to adjust to changes, and update procedures as necessary.

Reopening decisions were made with many factors in mind, including efforts to be accessible in a wide geographical footprint throughout our service area.
