Learn about United Way of the Midlands and how YOU make a difference. We need your support more than ever this year as we kick off our 2020-21 fundraising campaign. Over the past few months COVID-19 has caused needs in our community to skyrocket and pushed more families into poverty. Our local nonprofits are working overtime to serve them, and they can't do it alone. Join us virtually tomorrow and learn how your gift helped local community members get back on their feet. And don't miss special guest Greg McDermott's inspiring message about the importance of working as a team during tough times like these.

Special Guest Speaker - Coach Greg McDermott

This year, Greg McDermott will open his 11th season as the head coach of the Creighton Men’s Basketball team. A native of Cascade, Iowa, McDermott owns a 380-247 record in 19 seasons on the Division I sidelines. He has a 511-311 career mark in 26 seasons as a head coach, which includes 10 trips to the NCAA Tournament. Last year, he led the 2019-20 Bluejays to a share of the program’s first BIG EAST title and was honored as the BIG EAST, USBWA District VI, NABC District 5 and Basketball Times Midlands District coach of the year. McDermott and his wife, Theresa, have three children: Nick, Doug and Sydney. McDermott is a generous supporter of United Way of the Midlands, donating to the annual campaign since 2010.
