The Arts of the Pamlico is busy creating art programs and exhibits, changing out our costume museum and creating a new podcast for our BoCo Town series, writing grants and more while we are closed for the remainder of March to comply with expert recommendations to contain the virus.

What else is happening?

There is never a dull moment at the Turnage!

A festive night of dancing was had by all at our annual Shake Your Shamrocks event, sponsored by Abbott Tunstall. Sponsorships for future outdoor concerts are being sought now. Contact Debra at [email protected].

Events starting March 14 have been scooted to future months wherever possible.

BRAVO! Arts After School and Petite Picasso program for PreK children are temporarily suspended until we get the all clear sign.

Annie Jr. has been cast and as they say the show must go on -- and it will -- in mid October vs. early May. to give youth actors the time they need to prepare.

We are keeping in touch with the school system to learn how we can be of assistance to support our community with Internet access, meal pick up and possible Pop-up Art Camps for kids to offer homework help, free daily movies and outdoor art and cultural activities - stay tuned. If you have craft or art supplies you do not want or use any longer - please donate them for art kits we will be making for youth.

AOP Kids get 25 cents off an ice cream cone at Cups & Cones all month long. Check them out at Moss Landing.

Art drop off for the ReLeaf Art Exhibit will go on in April, at this time.

Planning for the fall Blues and Jazz Festival, Pickin on the PUngo bluegrass event, the 2021 Once Upon A Time Annual Gala and more is underway.

We are answering the phones from 11 AM - 6 PM each day, so do give us a call if you have questions, suggestions or more.

The world is a little brighter with more art in it -- as our marquee sign shares. We wish for all brighter days ahead. Be well. And we look forward to seeing you at the theatre again soon!

Best,

Debra Torrence
