Conclusion
DJI Remote ID in its current form does not meet the requirements of the new requlation.
DJI has been on the forefront of this technology. It maybe as simple as updating the firmware to meet the FAA requirements. DJI is working hard to conform to the regulations so that their drones can continue to be flown.
DJI's Aeroscope currently can detect most drones and locations of the control station even without the Remote ID being turned on.
I am confident that my current fleet of DJI drones will still be able to continue to be flown once the FAA regulation goes into effect.
It is too early to speculate on just how it will all work. New technologies need to be invented such as third part modules that can be added to drones for Remote ID.
I personally think that Remore ID will be a huge benefit to Professional Remote Pilots and make it easier to fly near airports in controlled airspace.
"If we could only get manned Helicopter Pilots to fly above 500 AGL (their minimum), that would be a great accomplishment."
