St. Philip the Apostle School
Daily Update From the Principal

Dear Parents,
I am really excited about the offerings that will be available to our students during July.

I will send the list home to you next week, but in the meantime, check out the Virtual Library that Ms. Natalie and Ms. Leah have set up. Each library has links to ebooks and themed reading. The virtual libraries will be updated periodically over the summer to help students stay engaged and reading. If you visit the LC virtual library you will also find weekly virtual vacations to different places throughout the world. Each virtual vacations has fun activities, videos, and facts about the location. Ms. Natalie is taking requests for virtual vacations. If you would like to participate just look for the map. The virtual vacations have fun things for all grade levels but they are only in the LC virtual library. The virtual libraries are accessible through  https://falconsfables.org/.

The teachers will be notifying you of their drop off dates for textbooks, library books, chromebooks, sports uniforms, etc. In order to keep everyone safe, it is important that the following protocol be followed:

  • Enter through the propped, glass, front doors.
  • Everyone wears a mask
  • Every keeps social distancing in mind
  • Only three people in a classroom at a time
  • Those waiting wait outside the propped glass doors on the yellow lines
  • Wait to enter until the teacher at the front desk directs you to do so.
  • It is best if younger students do not come unless you have no other choice.
  • The main reason for this is that teachers will have a hard time keeping social distance. They want to give their students a big hug!
  • Older students, grades 5 and up, can be the one person to enter the classroom to return items.
  • If your child has a lot of personal items in the classroom, bring a bag to help carry them.
If you borrowed a Chromebook, you do not have to return it if you will need it over the Summer for the July program. You can return it in August.

Finally, we have two Bedtime stories for you from Ms. Estella our front desk receptionist, and Mrs. Rittichier, our TKB teacher. Enjoy!

Don't forget our Family Activity tomorrow at 3 pm. If anything happens that keeps your child from getting in to their family, go to Coach Guzman's family at the bottom of the list. The list is in the links below.

You'll be hearing from me next week about with our July Program. I am really excited about it and the special hangouts that our teachers are offering.

Blessings,
Jennifer
