Dear LFHS Students and Families,

Thank you for your continued patience and flexibility during the eLearning process. Schoology, the District 115 learning management system, is an integral part of remote learning. The platform hosts course information and is the primary hub of communication between teachers, students, and families.

As vast parts of the country have moved to eLearning, the Schoology platform has experienced significant issues. The website is down many times of the day or simply experiences intermittent functionality. We understand this is not ideal, as all members of our learning community rely on Schoology to help facilitate eLearning.

Schoology engineers are working on fixes that will hopefully get the platform up to 100% functionality. In the interim, D115 teachers have been encouraged to continue using Schoology as their primary hub of information, but they may be reaching out to students via district email for communication. It is important for all stakeholders, primarily teachers and students, to maintain flexibility in regards to sharing and collecting resources, assigning and completing coursework, and meeting time frames/deadlines.

Our district is working proactively with Schoology to identify a timetable for when their platform will be fully operational. An effort has also been made to partner with them to find short-term solutions that can aid our teachers and students. We can’t stress enough the importance of ongoing communication between all stakeholders as eLearning continues. We are all navigating these unique times together, and maintaining a healthy learning experience for all students is always at the forefront of our minds as we continue on this educational journey.

Thank you for your patience. We will continue to keep you updated as we work to address these issues.
