A Message from the Principal
Good Evening Cherokee Families,

We are heading into the adaptive pause tomorrow and I'm sharing reminders around remote learning. As always, our students do their very best when we have a strong partnership between home and school:

Responsible Usage Agreement:
The Responsible Usage Agreement (linked below) was shared with students prior to taking the devices home on Thursday. Additionally, there are some simple Parent Recommendations below.

District 67 accounts include a message monitoring and filtering system called “Securly" which alerts school administrators when it detects potential threats or signs of danger.

Google Meet Expectations:
We will continue to leverage Google Meet for synchronous learning experiences. We have taught all students the Google Meet school-wide expectations and you can review those at home.

Parent Recommendations:
  • During learning times, have your children work in a designated space.
  • Once work is completed, have your children turn the device into you for charging. These devices are meant for educational purposes only.
  • Review the Responsible Usage Agreement with your child.
  • These are all great teachable moments to help students engage appropriately with technology as a tool to enhance learning.

Technology Support:

As always, please continue to be in touch with our school team if we can do anything to support your child or family during this time. We appreciate your partnership and support.

Stay well,

Luke
