Remote Learning Until September 14
September 2, 2020
Good afternoon,

Earlier this week, Springbrook informed you of the recent spike in COVID-19 infections in the Oneonta area. Our administrative and clinical teams have monitored the situation daily. Unfortunately, cases continue to rise. Due to this local outbreak, and in keeping with our proactive and successful approach to this pandemic, we have decided to postpone the start of in-person learning.

In an abundance of caution, and with the health and safety of our students and staff at the heart of the decision, we will begin the 2020-21 school year with remote learning. This decision is in line with our regional BOCES and partnering school districts. Please see the details below:
The School at Springbrook Day Program - Remote Learning

  • Remote learning begins on Wednesday, September 9

  • In-person learning will tentatively begin on Monday, September 14
  • We will inform you by Friday, September 11 if in-person classes will begin, or if we must postpone for an extended period

  • Your child's teacher will contact you directly with specific information about your child's remote schedule
We will continue to monitor the outbreak closely and make decisions regarding in-person learning based on infection rates and guidance from our local department of health and BOCES offices.

We know that this delay to in-person learning is disheartening. Thank you so much for your partnership and continued understanding as we navigate the uncertainty of this situation.

Sincerely,
Traci Lanner, Director
The School at Springbrook
