Dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus, part of the growing repentance remnant, cleansing as His Bride, getting ready for His soon return as our Bridegroom-----
Three thousand years ago, the LORD revealed to King Solomon the process by which He would heal a land of wickedness where His people resided. It's obviously still True today: "When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land." ( 2 Chronicles 7:13,14 NKJV).
Over the past 14 years NDR has called for a number of days of national repentance, both in the USA and other nations. God willing, for the next 40 days, ending on January 20, 2025, the Presidential Inauguration, NDR will share each day a simple devotional naming a national sin. Following the example of Nehemiah, Ezra and Daniel, we invite you to join us, repenting yourself, for your family, for this nation, in this case the USA. Join us each day in your own prayer closet, or in any group, confessing and repenting for that national sin. Then, starting at 11 AM Eastern time on January 19, NDR will encourage a 24 hour National Day of Repentance, concluding one hour prior to the Inauguration on January 20. Intercessors from other nations will be invited to join us also. The final two hours of the twenty four will be a zoom call to which you're invited to acknowledge and repent of the sins and to declare our return to the Lord's Godly roots. It's ALL about giving honor to Almighty God and His process set forth in His Word, not to man. True healing of any nation comes from Him when He "hears from heaven" that His people called by His name have humbled themselves, prayed, sought His face, and turned back to Him, true repented.
The national sins fall into several categories; you may add others--clearly there are more than 47 national sins we could list: failing to place the living God first in our hearts, opening up the nation to the anti-Christ spirit; failing to stand with Israel; the killing of innocents; the hideous treatment of children by "gender-affirming care;" idolatry; the spirit of mammon; the legalization of sexual perversions; the failure by the house of God to advance His Kingdom.
On this day eight, please join me in repenting that idolatry has infected the "ecclesia" in this nation. Those in "the house of God" in this nation have largely forgotten, or never knew, this nation's unique Christian history, nor its prophetic connection to the Bible. Shepherds in our Christian churches are held to a higher standard (James 3:1); they need themselves to repent (Matthew 4:17) and to truly convert (Matthew 18:3, Acts 3:19) to join His kingdom. And those in the "house of God" are where judgment begins (1 Peter 4:17).
As a result, hundreds of years after the earlier planting of God's Liberty in this nation, based on His Word, the "ecclesia" in this nation resembles the lukewarm 7th church the Risen Christ speaks about in Revelation 3: 14-21, the church of Laodicea. And from lukewarmness, idolatry has spread! The Word could not be more clear. We are called not to lay up treasures for ourselves, but to be rich toward God. (Luke 12:21).
" Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma....For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolator, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God." ( Ephesians 5:1,2,5). "Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry." (1 Corinthians 10:14). We are to know the Truth, bear fruit worthy of repentance (Matthew 3:8), and reject the false substitutes--- so prevalent in our culture today, found often even in our homes.
1 John 5:18:21 (amplified version) makes this very clear: " We know [with confidence] that anyone born of God does not habitually sin; but He (Jesus) who was born of God [carefully] keeps and protects him, and the evil one does not touch him. We know [for a fact] that we are of God, and the whole world [around us] lies in the power of the evil one [opposing God and His precepts]. And we [have seen and] know [by personal experience] that the Son of God has [actually] come [to this world], and has given us understanding and insight so that we may [progressively and personally] know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true—in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. Little children (believers, dear ones), guard yourselves from idols—[false teachings, moral compromises, and anything that would take God’s place in your heart]."
Any god, object, or pursuit other than that directed by God's revealed will and Way declared in His Son is an idol. So today, let's remove idolatry as a national sin. As the Lord leads, please join me in this prayer: "Heavenly Father, in Jesus' Holy Name, please forgive me, please forgive my family, please forgive my nation, for any idolatry, instead of viewing You, deeply hallowing You, as Almighty God, first in our lives. I repent Lord for not hallowing You as the "Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the Creation of God." I choose today to renounce all idols, to move FULLY in Your Holy Spirit to be on FIRE for You and Your Kingdom. Restore in us the JOY of Your Salvation as we return humbly to You. In Jesus' Holy Name above all names, Amen and Amen."
