Our second online conference will be held Wednesday 30 November–Saturday 3 December, 2022 and will feature 150 sessions in many formats including paper panels, seminars, roundtables, lightning rounds, and workshops. Information about registration, reduced rates, conference grants, Virtual 2022 + San Juan 2023 registration discounts, and more can be found on the RSA Virtual 2022 page.

All sessions on the program will take place live on our RSA Virtual 2022 conference platform. We do hope you will join us. Please contact our staff with any questions.

The program for RSA San Juan 2023 will be available to view on December 1 and registration for the conference will open later that month. Our 69th Annual Meeting will be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico 9–11 March 2023. The conference will take place at a pair of resort hotels, the Caribe Hilton and Condado Plaza Hiltonboth of which have been recently renovated. The historic city is easily accessible from the conference venues by taxi or bus, and tours will be offered. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit San Juan’s renowned sites and collections, which date back many centuries, including the San Felipe del Morro fortress, the Casa del Libro, the Puerto Rico Historic Buildings Drawings Society, and the Museo de las Americas.

Take your job interviewing skills to the next level by joining us at our upcoming professional development webinar. Meet with our experienced group of panelists to discuss what really happens during an interview–questions you may be asked, tips for surviving all those meetings, and the things you absolutely must do to prepare. The workshop will be held online at 1:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday, October 13. Easily convert the time zone.

Registration will open later this month for our Online Graduate Student Lightning Talk Series. The next session in our series will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. EDTEasily convert the time zone here.

As part of our celebration of the 75th anniversary of our society’s journal, Renaissance Quarterly, we invite you to peruse our new retrospective issue: a selection of articles going back to RQ’s earliest years. Since 1948, RQ has provided an important multidisciplinary forum for articles and reviews of original and significant research and interpretation, encouraging connections among different scholarly approaches to bring together material spanning the period from 1300 to 1700.

Under the leadership of a new team of editors, we are pleased to announce new guidelines for submissions that retain this chronology but allow for submissions of essays with a wider range of lengths and interdisciplinary approaches. As we move toward open access with our publisher, Cambridge University Press, we continue to face new challenges related to making the opportunity to publish in our journal equally available to all RSA members. Please consider making a donation to help offset the rising costs of top-tier scholarly publishing.

Nominations are now open for the 2023 Paul Oskar Kristeller Lifetime Achievement Award. This award honors a lifetime of uncompromising devotion to the highest standard of scholarship accompanied by exceptional achievement in Renaissance studies. Nominations are due by October 12, 2022.
