We hope you will join us March 21–23, 2024, at our 70th Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois. Submissions for RSA Chicago 2024 are now open. Details and the link to post a Call for Papers (CfP) are on the RSA Chicago 2024 page. Additional submission guidelines can be found on our conferences page. The submission deadline is August 15, 2023.

The Josephine Waters Bennett Lecture will be presented by Joan-Pau Rubiés Mirabet, ICREA Research Professor in the Humanities at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. The conference will be held at the Palmer House Hilton in downtown Chicago (the Loop). The Palmer House is located just a 5–10 minute walk from the Art Institute of Chicago and Symphony Center, and not far from the theater district. The Newberry Library is easily accessible by public transportation or a short cab ride. The city has two major airports, Midway and O’Hare, with public transportation to downtown. Amtrak and Metra regional trains arrive at Union Station.

The editors of Renaissance Quarterly invite proposals for contributions to a special issue, “Resource Landscapes.” Submissions are due by September 1, 2023. More information about the call for papers can be found on the Renaissance Quarterly Newsletter webpage.

Each year, the RSA awards a number of competitive fellowships to members supporting individual research projects and publications that advance scholarly knowledge about the period 1300–1700. Information about the 2024 fellowship cycle will be posted in July 2023 and we anticipate that the application deadline will be in mid-September 2023. Please review the fellowships webpage for additional details and take a close look at the RSA–Virginia Fox Stern Center Fellowship.

Submissions are now open for the new Lightning Talk Series, “The Sexual Renaissance(s).” Participants from various disciplinary backgrounds are invited to think about the nature, meaning, place, and development of Renaissance sexuality. The RSA Graduate Student Advisory Committee will hold the online event on Thursday, November 2. Abstracts of 150 words are due by Sunday, September 24. More information about the series is available here.
