NAR 2025 Profile of Home Buyers, Sellers Reveals Market Extremes

The housing market is increasingly split between extremes: equity-rich, all-cash buyers are at an all-time high, while cash-strapped first-time buyers are at a record low, according to the National Association of REALTORS'® (NAR) newly released 2025 Profile of Home Buyers & Sellers.

First-time buyers now make up just 21% of the market—the lowest share since 1981—and the median age of first-time buyers has climbed to a record 40. In contrast, repeat buyers are leveraging strong equity positions, with nearly one in three purchasing homes entirely in cash, bypassing traditional financing.

New Group Benefits Member Perks Partner Announced

New Jersey REALTORS® (NJR) is excited to announce its brand-new Member Perks Partner, RD Parisi Associates & GIG Workers Universe, a group benefits program for independent contractors.

Benefits are provided by the Blue Cross Blue Shield National Network through Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield. Enrolled members will have access to Blue Cross Blue Shield providers in New Jersey and Nationwide. The GIG Workers Universe Membership Program offers multiple plans to choose from. This will allow members to select the plan that meets their coverage and pricing needs.
