Dear Fellow Republicans and Friends,

As this New Year begins, I cannot help but look forward with renewed optimism. The November elections resounded like a gong across our country that We The People are opposed to the liberal, socialistic course that our leaders have been taking our Nation. In dramatic fashion, Republicans were swept into office gaining a majority in the House of Republicans as well as 500+ seats in state houses across the Nation.

Already we have seen a different tone and a renewed focus on our Constitution from our congressmen and women. Yet the greatest impact to come from the November election will be realized as state houses convene to set agendas, pass laws and work on redrawing the maps that will define our congressional districts for the next decade.

Both statewide and nationally the Republican Party is experiencing a rebirth. Under the leadership of newly elected State Chair Steve Munisteri, The Republican Party of Texas has gone from being $700,000 thousand dollars in debt to being completely debt free. The RPT has also started a rainy day fund, and is making good on its commitment to operate transparently and in the black.

Nationally, we saw as just this last week the Republican National Committee shun the leadership that has allowed for deficit spending to grow the RNC debt as new leadership was elected to the Chair and Co-Chair. (more on the new RNC Chair)

Locally, we will be working this year to do our part and to prepare for an effective election season in 2012. Already, we have retired half of the debt our current Executive Committee inherited, provided for more of a participatory climate, and had a successful campaign season.

I am convinced that the greatness of our Nation is in our people. I've always believed that there are a great number of citizens who want to be involved and do their part to make a difference - if only they knew where to start. Soon, you will be hearing more details on our efforts to build a local grassroots volunteer network, return our local party to sound financial footing, and prepare for victory in 2012. Our goal is to empower you and provide opportunities for you to make a difference in our nation, state and community.
