Remodeled City Hall to open Mid-July
Williston Economic Development - Williston City Hall is getting a major facelift this summer. The renovation project is expected to wrap up in mid-July. Pictured at right is a photo of the fireplace in the lobby of City Hall. The new commission room will have space for more than 90 participants. A ribbon cutting and open house will be announced later.

Williston Airport named Aviation Pros' Project of the Year
Aviation Pros - On Oct. 10, the new Williston Basin International Airport (XWA) in Williston, North Dakota celebrated its grand opening, replacing the 70-year-old Sloulin Field International Airport (ISN). Owned by the city of Williston, the $270 million all-encompassing project was designed to meet the flying needs of Williston’s current and future travelers and community. Read More
Lounge Thirty 3 celebrates Ribbon Cutting
Williston Economic Development - The Williston Chamber Ambassadors held a ribbon cutting at the new Lounge Thirty 3 recently. The new restaurant, lounge and espresso bar is owned and operated by Eddie and Megan Wold of Williston.
Thake proposed as Superintendent for Combined School District
Williston Herald - Despite strong opposition from one member, the board for Williams County Public School District No. 8 has agreed to a proposal that would put the superintendent of Williston Public School District No. 1 in charge of a combined district. As part of the reorganization discussions, the board for District 1 proposed naming Jeffrey Thake superintendent as part of the joint plan voters will have to approve. That isn’t a requirement, but is allowed as part of the plan. Read More

Free Landfill Day June 20 in Williston
Williston Public Works and Engineering - The City of Williston Landfill will be open to the public, free of charge, on   Saturday, June 20. Hours will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Staff will direct traffic and get the public in and out of the landfill quickly and safely. Restrictions include, limit of 4 tires per load, no lead acid batteries, no liquids and no waste oil. No commercial, industrial or contractor businesses will be allowed free disposal, normal rates will apply. Read More
