In this video clip, you can see what happened. The landlord in the appeal requested that Dreier be recused for this misconduct. His request, along with his entire appeal, was denied.
This kind of blatant disdain for fairness is a further example of Dreier's unfitness to serve the public. It is yet another reason why it's so important to have a fair and balanced Rent Board, instead of one with a built-in majority of anti-landlord activists.
OUR NOV 2026 BALLOT MEASURE WILL GUARANTEE EQUAL REPRESENTATION
We need equal representation on the Rent Board to ensure fair decisions and relevant expertise over the rental industry in Pasadena.
We also need to defend our hard-won rights: many experts say that it is only a matter of time before politicians succeed in overthrowing Costa-Hawkins. This would allow the PRHB to Implement VACANCY CONTROL. New tenancies would be forced into rent with only marginal rent increases, regardless of previous rental rates. The result: a dramatic loss in the supply of housing and some experts predict a loss of one-third of multi-family property values.
Our ballot measure:

Requires an equal number of landlords and tenants on the rent board

Preserves Costa-Hawkins (worth 33% of your property's value)

Caps out-of-control spending and fees

Merges the Rent Stabilization Department into the longstanding Department of Housing to save $3 million per year.
We are short on time. Please contribute $120 per rented unit that you own or manage. This includes single family homes, apartments, condos and ADUs, which are ALL covered under Measure H.
Tenant activists from Oakland spent almost $400,000 to get Measure H passed in 2022. To get a fair and efficient rent department, we need to spend even more than that.
